We’re a service-minded, volunteer-driven, not-for-profit “agency” dedicated to helping and connecting ad industry leaders of tomorrow.
As a division of the American Advertising Federation (AAF) and an affiliate of AAF Hawaii and District 13, we offer local and national education and leadership opportunities with decades of experience to help young professionals kick start their careers.
Ad 2 Hawaii was established in 1969 by a group of young professionals looking to connect with their peers and "talk shop" while building their skills and networking with industry leaders.
Originally named Junior Ad Club, the organization has assumed a handful of names until settling on Ad 2 Honolulu in 1973. In 2020, Ad 2 Honolulu was renamed Ad 2 Hawai'i to be inclusive of the entire state. As the Hawaii chapter of the national Ad 2 organization, Ad 2 Hawai'i is a part of a much longer and wider history. Visit the national Ad 2 website to learn more.
Joining this committee means you want to help grow and maintain Ad 2 Hawaii’s personal brand. You’re all about hashtags, scheduling posts, raking in those likes, and crafting poignant messages. You’re part of a team that manages all our communication channels, including our website, newsletter, eblasts, social media, any collateral, public relations, and more.
If you believe that education can destroy hate, create new realities, and elevate whole communities, this committee is for you. You’ll lead projects and plan events to promote diversity and multiculturalism, advertising education and awareness and activism with regard to government relations in our industry. You’ll also work to uphold creative excellence through the American Advertising Awards.
Do you love people? This committee was made for you! As part of this team, your top priorities are introducing Ad 2 Hawai‘i to prospective members, getting to know all our members, and making sure everyone feels at home and stays connected. You’re also in charge of our monthly networking events and annual membership drive.
Does planning a party put a spring in your step? If so, this committee has been waiting for you. You’ll plan events to make Ad 2 Hawai‘i fun for its members and raise funds to support our awesome projects, like our Public Service campaign. You’re in charge of our annual fundraiser, as well as other programs like Shots for Shots and ADvise.
This committee needs people who are hungry to help their community in a creative way. As part of this team, you’ll select a local nonprofit organization and create a pro bono, fully integrated advertising campaign for them. You’ll learn about all aspects of a campaign, developing it from start to finish. Who knows? You could even win some awards for it!
Board Members are the leaders of their respective committees. The Executive Committee oversees club management and operation. Committee Chairs are elected once a year and any active Ad 2 Hawaii member is eligible to be nominated for each position. Committee Chairs who have served for at least 1 year are eligible to be nominated for an Executive Committee position.
